President, Asia Pacific


Charles Tseng is President, Asia Pacific for Korn Ferry, the global people and organizational advisory Firm. He focuses on board, CEO and leadership issues for companies in China as well as in the broader Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Tseng has responsibility for a region encompassing Greater China, India, ASEAN, Australasia, Japan and Korea. He is also a member of the Firm’s Global Operating Committee.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Tseng was with another global search firm, where he was senior partner for East Asia and a member of its board of directors practice group.

Before that, Mr. Tseng was with Cold Storage, a leading food and retail company in Southeast Asia, where he was appointed group general manager.

He also served as board director of Jusco Malaysia, one of the largest retailers in Malaysia. He began his career with the Ford Motor Company as a manufacturing engineer in Australia and subsequently held other manufacturing and marketing positions with Ford in Asia including marketing director, Malaysia.

Voted by BusinessWeek in 2008 as one of the 50 most influential search consultants in the world, Mr. Tseng obtained an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A and a first class honors’ degree in engineering from the University of Melbourne in Australia.

He is Chairman of the Wharton Executive Board for Asia and a fellow member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He is a Founding Member of the Shanghai Charity Foundation – United Way Worldwide Corporate Advisory Council and a member of the Asian Advisory Board of Melbourne University. He is also a board director of AEON Co. (M) Bhd.

A native Mandarin speaker, Mr. Tseng is based in Shanghai.
